Membre de l&#8217;Acad\u00e9mie am\u00e9ricaine des arts et des sciences, elle a re\u00e7u le prix litt\u00e9raire Lannan ainsi que le prix quinquennal Mildred et Harold Strauss Living Award de l&#8217;Acad\u00e9mie am\u00e9ricaine des arts et des lettres. Elle a \u00e9galement re\u00e7u des bourses NEA, Fulbright, Guggenheim et de l&#8217;Institut Radcliffe, et a donn\u00e9 les conf\u00e9rences William E. Massey sur l&#8217;histoire de la civilisation am\u00e9ricaine \u00e0 l&#8217;universit\u00e9 de Harvard. Son travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9 dans <em>The New Yorker<\/em>, <em>The Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times<\/em>, ainsi que dans de nombreuses anthologies et manuels scolaires. Son livre le plus r\u00e9cent, un recueil d&#8217;histoires intitul\u00e9<em> Thank You, Mr Nixon<\/em>, a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u et commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 la Maison Dora Maar. Son prochain livre, un roman intitul\u00e9<em> Bad Bad Girl<\/em>, sera publi\u00e9 par Knopf en octobre
