L’Hôtel de Tingry, classé monument historique, qui a été et qui fut la résidence personnelle de la mécène Madame Nancy Brown Negley pendant 13 ans, a été érigé au XVIIe siècle par Joseph Balthazard des Laurents dont la descendante, Éléonore Pulchérie des Laurents,
épousa Charles François Christian Montmorency-Luxembourg, Prince de Tingry, qui donna son nom à la demeure. En 1781, le Comte de Rantzau, capitaine du roi du Danemark, trouva refuge en ces lieux et y vécut jusqu’à sa mort en 1789.

En 2019, l’Hôtel de Tingry fut donné par Madame Nancy Brown Negley à la Fondation Mérimée et à l’Association Nancy B. Negley pour qu’il devienne le foyer des activités culturelles locales.
