Jane MacAvock is an independent art historian, translator and lecturer based in Paris. She specializes in French art of the 17th century, especially painters working in Provence. Jean Daret (Brussels 1614-Aix-en-Provence 1668) was one of the leading artists in Provence and France, known to today for his works in the museums and churches of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille and other Provencal towns.
