Dora Maar Cultural Center
Attn: Jackie Wisnoski
Redding Group
2726 Bissonnet St., #240-18

IRA & CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS

If you are 70 1/2 or older, you may make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA to the Dora Maar Cultural Center – up to $111,000 per individual, or $222,000 for married couples filing jointly. A QCD is excluded from your taxable income, making it a tax-efficient giving strategy whether or not you itemize deductions. If you are 73 or older, a QCD may also satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year.

Because retirement accounts are tax-exempt when left to charity, 100% of your gift goes directly to supporting our mission.

How to make this gift:

1. Funds are easily transferred to Dora Maar (Federal Tax ID: 83-0748135). To initiate the transfer, contact your plan administrator and ask them to send a check directly to:

Dora Maar Cultural Center
Attn: Jackie Wisnoski
Redding Group
2726 Bissonnet St., #240-18
Houston, TX 77005

2. The check must clearly state the account is an IRA, include your full name, and be completed by December 31 each year.

3. Notify Dora Maar of your intended gift to helps us unsure that your donation is used as intended at: support@maisondoramaar.org

Key details:
– Eligibility: QCDs are available from IRAs (traditional and, in some cases, Roth-consult your advisor).
– Annual limit: You may give up to the IRS annual QCD limit each year. (Limits are indexed for inflation; your advisor or custodian can confirm the current amount.)
– Tax receipt: Your IRA custodian records the QCD for tax purposes; Dora Maar will send a gift acknowledgment.

The information is educational and not tax or legal advice. Please consult your advisor to determine how a QCD applies to your situation.

Join the legacy society

Charitable gift planning ensures your legacy reflects the ideas and values you cherish most. By including the Dora Maar Cultural Center in your estate plans, you make a lasting contribution to the artists, scholars, and communities the Center serves – now and for generations to come.
Planned gifts can be tailored to meet the future need of your loved ones while providing significant tax advantages.

Bequests Designate DMCC as a beneficiary in your will or trust – a specific amount, asset, or percentage of your residual estate. DMCC may also be named as a primary or secondary beneficiary of life insurance or retirement plans such as an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b). All charitable bequests qualify for tax deductions, and cash gifts can reduce your adjusted gross income by as much as 50 percent.

IRA Rollover / Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) Individuals aged 70 1/2 or older may transfer up to $111,000 directly from an IRA to DMCC with no income tax payment required. Because the QCD offers an exclusion from taxable income rather than a deduction, this strategy is available to all donors – including those who take the standard deduction. A QCD may also satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year. Married couples filing jointly may each make a QCD, for a combined limit of $222,000.

Gifts of Stock A direct gift of appreciated stock held more than one year eliminates capital gains tax and qualifies for a deduction at the stock’s full fair-market value at the time of transfer – with no capital gains liability incurred.

The information above is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, tax, or financial advice. We strongly encourage you to consult your attorney, financial advisor, or tax professional before making any planned gift.
