Join us to celebrate the weekend of heritage at Hotel de Tingry! On Sunday, September 18th we will host a lecture by Frank Steiner in English “The adventures of the Count of Rantzau and his luxurious exile at the Hôtel de Tingry in Ménerbes from 1781 until his death in 1789”

FRANK STEINER is Professor emeritus of Theoretical Physics at Ulm University and at CRAL (Centre de Recherche Astrophysique de Lyon). His research has covered topics in elementary particle physics, quantum physics, quantum chaos, mathematical physics, astrophysics  (cosmology and black holes), and history of physics. PhD 1968 at KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), Research associate at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen (1969), Fellow and Research associate at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Geneva (1972/73, 1985/86 and 2005), Professor at Hamburg University (1973-1995), Ulm University (1995-2009), and at CRAL (since 2010). Guest Professor at Universite’ Pierre-et-Marie-Curie” in Paris (1990), Institut Henri Poincare’ in Paris (1995), Universite’ de Gen`eve (1999), Princeton University (2005) etc. He has published books about theoretical physics and mathematics, and the book “Albert Einstein. Genie, Visionaer und Legende” (in German, 2005).
