Susanne Farrell is a Northern Irish, London based screenwriter. Her debut film Dirty God, Rotten Tomatoes gave an approval rating of 98% and described it as a ‘timely story delivered with empathy and deeply affecting grace’. Directed by Sacha Polak, Dirty God opened Rotterdam Film Festival in 2019 and also won three Golden Calves including Best Film. Susanne’s latest film Drift, starring Cynthia Erivo and directed by the Camera D’Or winning Anthony Chen, received its World Premiere at Sundance and was released to critical acclaim in 2024. Drift was awarded the Fipresci Prize, and received the ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal at the International Film Festival of India. She is currently writing the feature Vivian Maier, Developed for Haut et Court and Komplizen Film, and is working on a TV series set in 1880s Anglo-Irish society for Long Story TV. Susanne’s original crime show Hope Street for BBC is broadcast internationally, with Season 4 out now and Season 5 in the pipeline.
