Reading workshop around the literary works by Maryse Condé – 11am-12pm
In French, for the young public (free entry, reservation required) :
During the morning, dedicated to young visitors, there will be a reading of a children’s book by Maryse Condé in the heart of the exhibition, with Françoise Sémiramoth’s colorful works as a backdrop. Indeed, Sémiramoth’s art, a work of memory and dialogue, has a special resonance with the words of the great Guadeloupean author Maryse Condé (1934-2024). Through her paintings, Sémiramoth seems to extend Condé’s stories, weaving an unbreakable link between the visual arts and the power of Caribbean literature.

Workshop around color with the artist – 2-4pm
Adult public, 10 euros per person (reservation required) :
The afternoon will be a time for sharing with the artist, providing an opportunity to learn more about her practice. “At the heart of her approach lies a passionate exploration of color. Working with flat areas of color, the artist uses the raw power of primary colors while drawing on the full spectrum of the rainbow. This mastery of color, carried by a freedom of movement, transforms the canvas into a field of dynamic forces where the brushstrokes convey the artist’s vital energy and emotions.” Frauke V. Josenhans, exhibition curator.
