To mark the closing of the exhibition Through the Objects of Afghan-Canadian artist Hangama Amiri, the Dora Maar Cultural Center is pleased to host a special concert by Afghan musician and singer Esmatullah Alizadah.

Let yourself be carried away by Afghan music mixed with contemporary sounds in dialogue with the works of Hangama Amiri. The concert will take place in the heart of the exhibition, echoing the themes of memory, exile, and belonging explored by the artist.

Esmatullah Alizadah – Artist Bio:
Born in 1996 in Bamyan (Afghanistan) Esmatullah Alizadah graduated from the music department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Kabul University. A specialist in traditional instruments such as the dambura and harmonium, Esmatullah also stands out for his singing talents. In 2019, he opened his own studio in Kabul, Yaran Studio, where he works on his musical projects while offering his services to other artists. When he fled to Pakistan after the Taliban came to power, Esmatullah Alizadah was already a famous artist in Afghanistan.
Arriving in Sète in 2022 at the invitation of the TMS (Théâtre Molière de Sète – scène nationale archipel de Thau), he is now pursuing his career in France and Europe. Through his projects and performances, Esmatullah continues to promote the richness of his country’s musical culture, while blending it with the Western sounds of electro music, giving rise to a repertoire of captivating sounds in a musical dialogue between tradition and modernity.
