AKOS
In Ancient Greek, akos means “remedy” or “care.”
From March 2026, La Non-Maison presents AKOS, an exhibition by artist Doris Arkin, devoted to the vulnerable body, to repair, and to the fragile yet essential capacity for compassion.
Conceived as a space of confrontation and attentiveness, AKOS brings together a body of major works created over the past ten years. Shown in France for the first time, this powerful corpus examines the breaking point at which human existence becomes a battlefield-intimate, social, and political.
Through sculpture, Doris Arkin refuses to look away. Her works engage directly with wounds, giving them form; they sculpt compassion as an active gesture, and assert that no matter how small it may be, an act can always set change in motion.
The female figure runs through the exhibition as witness, victim, and survivor. The works trace a geography of vulnerability, situated between intimate memory and collective memory, between personal trauma and systemic injustice.
At the heart of the exhibition, Pietà functions as a silent key to interpretation-a pietà without a body. An offering to a cry that was never heard.
