Aifric Campbell is an Irish writer and the author of On the Floor, which was longlisted for the 2012 International Orange Prize. Her previous novels are The Loss Adjustor and The Semantics of Murder, and she has recently completed a novel about technological seduction. Campbell spent 13 years as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley, where she became the first female managing director on the London trading floor. She has been awarded a research fellowship at UCLA. Campbell received her PhD from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England, and she teaches creative writing to STEM students at Imperial College London, where she has a particular interest in creative perspectives on science.
