Tomasz’s fiction explores the experience of queer love and political oppression. Swimming in the Dark (2020), his debut novel, tells the story of two young men falling in love in 1980’s Communist Poland. It was named Book of the Year by the Guardian and NPR and is being adapted as an opera in the United States. It has been translated into 18 languages. His second novel, which he is currently finalizing, is a lesbian love story set in the Mesolithic.
