During the confinement, we all felt the importance of shared spaces, to think and laugh, work and eat together. We invited a group of artists, cooks, thinkers, designers to explore in a working laboratory that we set up during the three weeks at the Dora Maar house the implications of Co-vid on our lives and around the world.
The CoArt-19 session from August 3-23, 2020 was organized by Christoph Klütsch and Daniel Plettenberg from the Provence Academy (Saignon & Hamburg) and Gwen Strauss from the Dora Maar House in Menérbes. We brought together artists and thinkers in the Dora Maar House to create a collective multimedia collage that reflected each participant’s individual COVID-19 experience as well as an on-going conversation about the issues the pandemic has raised. The project included an exhibition of works; three à table choreographed dinners; interviews conducted with activists around the world; and a collection of local video-booth commentaries.
